Jerusalem – Representatives from the Israeli Kadima and Shas parties said on Friday that negotiations ended on Thursday following three-hour talks on the parties’ coalition agreement.
Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot reported on Friday that Kadima Chair Tzipi Livni met with the head of Shas, Eli Yishai on Thursday.
“There are still some gaps, but there was a ‘willingness to bridge’ theme,” Yishai said after the meeting, according to the paper.
Yashai also said that Jerusalem would not be part of any of the negotiations with Kadima, calling for “a clear pledge from Livni about not taking on the topic of Jerusalem during negotiations with Palestinians,” according to Maariv, a Hebrew-language newspaper.
