Extremist Israeli settlers attacked houses and property of Palestinians in Al-Khalil, south West Bank, Palestinian eyewitnesses Sunday said.

Scores of radical settlers attempted to confiscate the residences of Al-Rajbi family once again, after an Israeli court ordered that settlers vacate the building a month ago, Palestinian sources said. The settlers seized the building by force claiming ownership.

More than 150 armed settlers with machine guns attacked the Palestinian houses and wrecked a number of vehicles in areas near the holy Ibrahimi shrine, sources added. The Israeli forces witnessed the assaults, but did absolutely nothing, Palestinians said.

Palestinians fear they will be subjected to further attacks, especially with ongoing Jewish celebrations, and in view of the new Israeli government taking office with clear rightist representation.

Hundreds of settlers live in Arab suburbs after seizing Palestinians' houses by force and under the protection of the Israeli Army.
